Quality of Teaching & Learning
Our Quality Assurance (QA) cycle at Kelford involves the systematic review of educational provision in order to maintain and improve its quality, equity and efficiency. We ensure that it encompasses school self-evaluation, external evaluation (including inspection), the evaluation of teachers and school leaders, and pupil assessments.
At Kelford we aim for continuous improvement based on our own unique starting point and the drive for making sure that we are pupil centred by being the best that we can be!
Pupil progress tracking meetings are held every term with school leaders facilitating individual discussions with class teachers. Actions are set to ensure that the correct level of support and intervention are in place for every pupil.
Lesson observations have been renamed to ‘check-ins’ and allow leaders to monitor the quality of teaching under the following headings:
Planning is moderated at the start of each term and teachers are responsive to feedback. Kelford have a set of non-negotiables that have been agreed by teaching staff and underpin our fundamental values.
Work scrutiny is also fundamental to our process and we recognise at Kelford that the work produced takes many forms.
The most essential part of quality assurance is capturing pupil voice. At Kelford we ask three questions:
· Have you been learning about?
· What have you enjoyed?
· What could be better?
